American Music Mavericks Activities
Elementary Students: 1. Go to American Music Mavericks and listen to Aaron Copland's The Cat and the Mouse. Here's how you do this: 2. Click on the link above. 3. Find Aaron Copland's name (it will be on the far right, about halfway down). 4. Find The Cat and the Mouse and click on it. 5. Now answer these questions: How long is the piece? Does it sound like the cat and mouse are sleeping or chasing each other? What did the composer do to make it sound this way? (For example, "They sound like they are sleeping because the music is legato and slow."--By the way, this is not the right answer!)
