THEORY
Identify Note Names
Level 2 must be able to identify note names from anywhere on the grand staff.

  • Visit Flash Notes
    Choose beginner level, bass or treble clef, and do the exercise as fast as you can!  Do this exercise 3 times. 
    Record your best score on the piece of paper that you give me at your next lesson.  (it will show you in a yellow box at the end) and your level (beginner, advanced, etc.)

    After installing, open the game and choose from Level 1-10 in the lower left corner (to complete MP Level 1, you will have to be able to complete Level 10 in this game)
    Choose "All Notes" from the Option drop down menu
    Choose start

Ear Training
Steps and SKips
Level 2 must be able to identify steps and skips by ear.

  • Go to Teoria.
    UNCHECK the 6, 7, Perfect 4th, Perfect 5th, Octave.  This should leave only the Major 2, Major 3, and Melodic, and ascending boxes and circles checked.  Click OK.
    Choose the treble clef in the next window.  Click OK.
    When you hear the interval, click either MAJOR 2nd (step) or MAJOR 3rd (skip).  (These are the only 2 choices that you will hear.)
    Do this exercise for 5 minutes.  Record your score on your piece of paper and bring it to the lesson.
