Under Intervals, make sure these intervals are checkmarked: M2, M3, P4, P5, M6, M7, P8. Click OK. Choose what clef you want to use. Click OK. Do this game for 5 minutes, then record your score (percentage) in your Web Rewards page. If you do not score better than 90%, play it again, choosing a smaller number of intervals. For example, if you know you are having trouble with M2, M3, and M6, then just check those the 2nd time you play. OR Go to Big Ears. Make sure only the following intervals are checked: M2, M3, P4, P5, M6, M7, P8. Do this activity for 5 minutes. (Don't forget, it is wise to listen to the interval 3 times, like MP does before you answer.) As you play, write down what intervals you miss. If you do not do well, go back and drill just the ones with which you had trouble. INTERVAL IDENTIFICATION Go to EMusic Theory. Wait for the applet to load. Click Settings (upper left hand corner) Choose these settings: Drill Type: Identify intervals on staff Starting Note: No accidentals on starting note Interval Types: Major and Perfect Interval Direction: Ascending only Intervals: Select all except for unisons Play Sounds: Yes Click Ok, then click Start Drill Do this for 5 minutes and record your score (percentage) on your Web Rewards page. If you do not score more than 90%, plan on doing this again. Go to Teoria Interval Identification. (This one is not as good as the previous) Checkmark Major 2, Major 3, Perfect 4, Perfect 5, Major 6, Major 7, and Perfect 8. Checkmark "No Accidentals." Click OK. Play this for 3 minutes and record your score (percentage) on your Web Rewards page. MAJOR and MINOR CHORD IDENTIFICATION Download and print this Major and Minor Chord Worksheet. Complete the worksheet and bring it to your next lesson. BUILDING MAJOR and MINOR CHORDS ON STAFF Download and print the Building Triads on the Staff Worksheet. Complete the worksheet and bring it to your next lesson. MAJOR KEY SIGNATURES Major Key Signatures Make sure "Major" is checked, and "Both" is checked. If this is your first time to do this activity, then check the "limit to 4 accidentals" box. If it is not the 1st time, then do not check that box. You may also limit it to drilling just sharps or flats. Remember: To identify a Sharp key, take the last sharp and go up 1/2 step. To identify a Flat key, take the 2nd to the last flat and name it. Do this activity for 5 minutes, then record your score (percentage) on the Web Rewards page. OR Play Key Trainer for 5 minutes. Remember its the order of sharps backward! MELODIC DICTATION Download and print this Melodic Dictation Level 5 Worksheet 1. Listen to each of this musical examples. Circle the correct melody on your worksheet. Write down Melodic Dictation Worksheet 1 on your Web Rewards sheet and bring your worksheet to lessons. Read and complete the worksheet and bring it to your next lesson. W H Pattern for Scales You will need to look at the piano for this activity (or draw a keyboard on your paper). On a piece of paper, write the patter of Half and Whole steps for a Major scale. Use C Major as a reference since it has no black keys. For example, if the scale goes D E F G, then the pattern would be W H W (that's not the right one though!) On a piece of paper, write the patter of Half and Whole steps for a Harmonic Minor scale. Use A minor as a reference since it is related to C. (For the step that is bigger than a whole step, write WH together.)
