This late elementary piano duet was commissioned in 2008by the Wichita Metropolitan Music Teachers Association. Its snare drum like figures and bugle like harmony is perfect for a triumphant Olympic Processional. Both parts contain eighth notes and some shifts in hand position. (No dotted rhythms) The Primo part can be used a solo by omitting the first 8 measures. The ABA structure includes a call and response, a triumphant main theme, and a contrasting legato yet energetic 2nd theme. Students and audience members will enjoy the celebratory sound as they play. |
