Customer Reviews:Marlene Hallstrom (Thursday, 22 June 2006)Rating: ![]() These pieces are fresh and interesting settings of some well-known and loved hymns. They are somewhat challenging and require preparation in order to perform them with confidence. Both performer and listener will be intrigued and stimulated by these settings. A nice change from many of the hymn arrangements on the market today. - Marlene, Wichita, KS Susan Todd (Saturday, 08 July 2006) Rating: ![]() My Lutheran congregation enjoyed the energy and creativity of the pieces in the Rejoice! collection. I appreciate the variety in this collection, which will be useful throughout the church year. The pieces are fun to play and range from reflective to joyful to dramatic. I recommend them for any church pianist with late intermediate to advanced skills. - Susan, Hillsboro, OR Margarete Thomsen, DMA (Sunday, 08 October 2006) Rating: ![]() For anyone who plays in a church, I would like to recommend very highly Wendys' REJOICE which has been published by Concordia Publishing House. These are wonderful, breathtaking arrangements of familiar hymn tunes. The harmonies are not what the congregation would expect, but they are refreshing and so these settings provide a new and fresh hearing of hymns. I know that my congregation has been spellbound by these settings. |
